...it's not easy being green (at least not all of the time).
I think that when you become a vegetarian for ethical reasons, the next logical step is to "go green". You start to research which companies test on animals and which do not (and it's not just cosmetic companies...). Next think you know, you're immersed in a sea of articles about animal cruelty, global warming, recycling, how we get to work, the light bulbs we use, the household cleaners we buy, the homes we live in, the clothes we wear...I could go on and on. Then you figure it out...it's all connected. It sounds like you have a great epiphany, but it's not really like that. It just seems to all make sense. It really clicked with me when my husband and I were talking about it one day. I ended up saying something to the effect of "I like living in a clean house, right? Well, the outside is my home too so why wouldn't I want to keep it clean?"
Since then, I've been doing my best to "green" what I can. It's definitely still a work in progress as I don't want to just throw away things I have for the sake of buying something more "green". In the end, it kind of defeats the purpose. One of the most difficult things is that these products can be more expensive...sometimes a LOT more expensive...and it can sometimes take a lot of research to find the product that's just right. But, to me, the extra money and research is worth it to know that nothing has suffered or will suffer because of what I wash my clothes in or clean my house with or whatever.
So, that's the end of the "Who ARE you?!?!?" series. With all of that being said, one thing that I should have prefaced all of these posts with is that these are all MY views and opinions. I'm not trying to preach or try and make you change your way of living. I just wanted to give an update on some major changes in my life that were important to me. Now we can move on to whatever topic seems to tickle my fancy at the time. :)
Till next time...

Hahaaa. Have you ever told someone you cloth diaper? They look at you with this strange assessing look and say "So, how does that work?"
It works fine for me! ;-)
